Born on July 14, 1967, in Sylvester, Georgia, Michael earned the nickname “The General” for his commanding presence both on and off the field. As a four-year starting quarterback at Murray State University from 1986 to 1989, he became one of the most accomplished athletes in the history of the university’s football program. Proctor shattered ten Ohio Valley Conference records, solidifying his place in the history books as Murray State’s all-time leader in passing yards and total offense. His achievements were further honored when his number 11 jersey was retired, an incredible distinction reserved for only one other player in the university’s football history.

After his illustrious college career, Proctor went on to pursue professional football, showcasing his resilience and adaptability. Although undrafted by the NFL, he signed with the New England Patriots in 1990 and later played for the Montreal Machine in the World League of American Football, the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League, and the Charlotte Rage in the Arena Football League.
