It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic passing of Jack Tiver, a beloved young member of the Kersbrook community, who died by suicide on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 14. Jack was a talented musician and a cherished member of the Kersbrook Football Club, where he touched the lives of many with his warmth, energy, and passion. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him, from his family to his friends, teammates, and the wider community.
Jack was the much-loved son of Heath and Jen, a twin brother to Angus, and a younger brother to Sean. His family, deeply connected to the Kersbrook area, is heartbroken by the loss of such a bright and loving young soul. Jack’s life was marked by a fierce love for music and sport, and he brought joy to everyone around him with his infectious personality. His memory will live on through the lives he touched, and the impact he made on his family, friends, and community will never be forgotten.
In this painful time, we urge everyone to offer kindness, compassion, and support to the Tiver family as they navigate this unimaginable grief. The Tiver family has asked for privacy and understanding, and we respect their wishes. They are being surrounded by their loved ones, and the community is coming together to offer comfort and solidarity.
The loss of Jack, at such a young age, serves as a stark reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and open conversations about difficult topics, especially with our youth. We encourage everyone to reach out and offer support when needed, as the impact of suicide is far-reaching, affecting families, friends, and communities. If this news brings up difficult emotions, please remember that help is available, and it is important to talk to someone you trust or reach out to a support service. You are not alone.
A service to honor Jack’s life will be held tomorrow at 10:00 AM at the Lobethal Chapel, with a live stream available for those unable to attend in person. Following the service, Jack’s final journey will take him back to Kersbrook, where he will make a lap of the football oval, a fitting tribute to the sport he loved. His journey will continue through Kersbrook and onto the cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
A wake will follow at the Kersbrook Football Club, where family and friends will come together to share memories of Jack and offer their condolences.
May Jack’s memory serve as a reminder of the love and joy he shared with us, and may we all carry his spirit in our hearts. Rest in peace, Jack. You will never be forgotten.
