Dennis Gordon Steinhauer,Saddle Lake, Alberta Cause Of Death, Obituary: Devoted Husband, Father And Cherished Community Member Has Died

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Dennis Gordon Steinhauer, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished community member of Saddle Lake, Alberta. Dennis passed away peacefully at his home on February 4, 2026, at the age of 59, surrounded by the love of his family. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

Dennis was a man of quiet strength, humility, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was a loving and supportive husband to his wife, Bernadine, with whom he shared a life built on respect, partnership, and deep affection. As a father, Dennis took great pride in his sons—Bradley (Khaysah), Dylan, and Darian—always offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he treasured the moments spent with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be carried forward for generations.

Family was at the center of Dennis’s life. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Evelyn Steinhauer (Jim Cardinal), Linda Steinhauer, and Kevin (Eva) Steinhauer, as well as his mother-in-law, Lorraine Houle. Dennis also held a special place in his heart for his loyal fur companion, Geo, who was always by his side. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends who admired his kindness, generosity, and steady presence.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Nancy Steinhauer; his brother, Ron Steinhauer; his father-in-law, Eugene Houle; his paternal grandparents, Gus and Sarah Steinhauer; and his maternal grandparents, Steve and Alice Whitford. Though he now reunites with them in eternal rest, his spirit lives on through the love he gave and the values he instilled in his family.

A Wake will be held on Wednesday, February 11, leaving Grace Gardens at 2:00 p.m., at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre in Saddle Lake. A Funeral Service will follow on Thursday, February 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Saddle Lake.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to all who have offered prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time. Dennis Gordon Steinhauer will be remembered for his compassion, his dedication to family, and his enduring legacy of love. May he rest in peace.
